Changes to the distribution of Poker Points

From July 15th Gala/Coral/Eurobet is changing the way that poker points are distributed in our poker cash games.  Our new method, which we call Essence, not only takes into account the number of players and the size of the pot, but also the skill level and playing style of those involved in the hand.

Under the Essence system we will award a higher proportion of points to those players who are less experienced playing against tougher opposition, than to those who have more experience and are more likely to be winning players. 

Why make this change?  We feel that we have some of the best poker games available and we want to keep it that way!  Essence is designed to keep player numbers as high as possible at all play levels and maintain a healthy long term poker network.
 
What changes will I see?  Very few, Essence will calculate and distribute points automatically after each hand.  You may notice that your points accumulate slightly faster or slower than before depending on how you play and who you are playing against.

I am a winning player, am I being penalised?  With Essence we continue to value all players and we want everyone to be welcome at our poker room.  We promise never to block players for things such as “winning too much” as some of our competitors have done.  We are simply trying to keep the best games available to all players at all times. The result will be an increase in new and casual players which benefits everyone.
